                                                              Bamboo Woven Sheet 

Eco-Friendly and attractive, Bamboo Weaving Sheet is made with two layers of thin shaved strips of natural bamboo that is hand woven into a herringbone pattern. It can be used to cover walls and ceilings, or as a decorative wainscoting. It can also be used to wrap columns or to cover unsightly areas on large furniture and tiki-bars. Bamboo matting gives a beautiful organic tropical texture to any surfaces and can be used for both interior and exterior projects. Bamboo Matting can be installed easily by using staples or glue. It is recommended that you put tape on one side before cutting the matting to keep it from unraveling. If using outdoors, a polyurethane coating or varnish is recommended for added sheen and durability. Bamboo Matting can also be stained, painted or textured to match any decor.

1. Bamboo Selection and Pretreatment

• Bamboo Selection: Choose 3-5-year-old moso bamboo with uniform internode spacing.
• Drying: After felling, air-dry the bamboo for 7-15 days to reduce water content.
• Sugar Removal: Remove sugar from the bamboo through fire roasting or steaming to prevent insect infestation.

2. Bamboo Splitting and Layering

• Splitting: Use a bamboo knife to longitudinally split the bamboo along the internodes, repeatedly dividing the bamboo tube into slices 2-5 cm wide.
• Layer Separation:into green strips  and yellow strips :
  • Green Strips: Extremely flexible, 0.1-0.3 mm thick, used for weaving fine crafts.
  • Yellow Strips: 0.5-1 mm thick, mainly used for making large utensils like baskets and drying mats.

3. Fine Processing

• Strip Tearing: Use a bamboo knife to split bamboo slices into strips of consistent width; skilled craftsmen can split up to 10 layers of thin strips.
• Width Calibration : Ensure uniform strip width with an error controlled within ±0.2 mm.
• Deburring and Polishing : Use a triangular scraper to remove burrs, scraping and polishing 3-4 times until the strips shine like silk.
