The handle is made of 100% biodegradable Mao bamboo, an environmentally sustainable timber. The subtropical moosoon climate are also beneficial to growth of bamboo in Zhejiang Province. The bamboo is heat treated to carbonize the surface of the bamboo, giving it a quality finish and good service life.The carbonization finishing process provides water resistance and prevents the growth of microbes (bacteria and moulds) during normal use.

We use wild organic moso bamboo . After cutting a large bamboo stock a new stock grows back to around 65ft within 2 years. Bamboostocks are boiled in pure water, dried, heat treated, carved and a natural wax coat applied. Bristles are pressure implanted intoeach hole. Switching to BAMBOO makes total sense! Our bamboo toothbrush handles can be composted and in normal commercial composting conditions the bamboo will biodegrade andreturn to the earth within 6 months.
